P!OFF?
Since 1980 P!OFF? play together as a band. In 1982 Jochen Schmidtke, Thomas Vesely and Alex Weidner came out with their own style of New Wave and/or Neue Deutsche Welle resulting in a Vinyl LP and a Single “Mein Walkman ist kaputt” which became a minor radio hit in those days.
Nowadays they mostly do covers of not-so-well-known New Wave and Post Punk but their own compositions as well.
SCAPE
SCAPE saw the light first in 1997. Singer Alma7 and multi-instrumentalist Jaygee Willow recorded a variety of groove tracks from downtempo trip hop and pseudo-metal to contemporary techno. Check them out at the music section!
DAEMON STRITZKE
Daemon Stritzke works as a music producer, multimedia artist and dj. His output ranges from dark ambient and industrial music to goofy new-waveish material. Selected tracks are available as digital downloads in the music section.
THE ÓPTIMIST
The Óptimist is a phantom, a project, a phenomenon. His work includes a variety of styles from Trip Hop to Deep Ambient Dub.
History
Tonepark started in 1998 as a group of electronic musicians and multimedia artists and began working as an MP3-only label for themselves. MP3 was young at this time and seemed the perfect way to distribute music without being hassled by the music industry, distribution and sellers. After partying hard and realising lots of live events in Munich, Tonepark members A.I.R.I. (Audio Interference Research Institute), UPC, Bassdroid, Drehmoment, SCAPE and The Óptimist decided to realise a 3LP Set with their works in 2000, because it was then still hard for djs to play digital music except CD, which was no option. Some of these 3LP Sets (called the “Traffic Trilogy”, see “Releases”) are still available – please mail if interested.
Around 2003 the group fell apart but Tonepark continued distributing the back catalog and began searching for new artists. Since then, P!OFF? and Daemon Stritzke have signed to Tonepark, SCAPE and The Óptimist are still in.
